Bruins for life. Watch every game I can living in Georgia now for the past 13 yrs. Travel to see them in Florida and back home at least once or more a year. Miss the goalie hug. The Bruins have the core, they can put it together as the season goes on. I will never give up on them and it will always be Black and Gold forever. Everyone who knows me knows I only care about one thing from Oct to June, and that’s my Boston Bruins!! Stanley Cup this year!!!

Growing up my uncle introduced me to the Bruins along with the sport of hockey at a young age. I immediately fell in love with it. My uncle always had the Bruins on tv, I remember him talking about Joe Thornton, Sergei Samsonov and a young Patrice Bergeron (Who ended up being my favourite player) After attending my first NHL game in 2013 in Boston I never wanted to leave the arena. Since then I have moved to Ontario(in Maple Leafs territory) and have attended Atleast 40 NHL games in the past 3 seasons mostly Bruins games .My friends and family say I am addicted to hockey, maybe its how I never miss a game on tv, or my huge hockey card collection or how I’m always on Ticketmaster for my next set of tickets. My fiancé recently gave birth to a baby girl named Harper who is now 6 months old. (My fiancé wouldn’t let me name her Patrice) She has already attended 2 NHL games and has her own jersey, and a start to her hockey card collection. I hope to share my passion and hockey knowledge to her and hope it brings the same amount of joy that it does to me. I am the ultimate Boston Bruins fan and ultimate hockey fan.

This is ME running the Boston Marathon in 2013 for FamilyAid Boston, a city homeless organization that assists families struggling with homelessness and prevention. I ran eight Boston’s for that organization showing my support. My loyalty remains to this day just like that which I have for my Boston Bruins. I have been a two-time partial season ticket holder having shared seats back in the 80’s into the early 90’s then again with another group in the late 90’s thru the transition to the Fleet Center into this century. I have followed almost every game and team since 1966 on WSBK thru the early cable years and now into the NESN broadcast era. My favorite players over time have been Rick Smith, Jean Ratelle, Rick Middleton, Vlad Ruzicka, Greg Hawgood, Andy Moog, Randy Burridge, Marc Savard, Brad Marchand and of course #22, the great Brad Park. I was at the last stand, the final exhibition between the Canadiens and Bruins in the old Garden to witness history to see Norm on skates. The Bruins live in me and I still rejoice in their voctories especially that of 2011 and the great marathons run by my current hero Captain Zdeno Chara, a true champion for all to mimic.

I was born into a big hockey family. My dad and his 5 brothers played pond hockey as kids, and my dad still plays now. Growing up, that hockey bag smell (IYKYK) seemed to always linger in the front hallway, but it never bothered me. My dad had passed his passion on to me. Every winter he would build my brothers and I a rink in the yard so that we could work on our hockey stops and our slapshots. My first game at the Fleetcenter was an absolute dream, even after a rogue puck flew over the glass and hit the guy behind us, spewing blood everywhere. At 9 years old, I was not phased and begged my dad to let us stay and finish the game. I have been and always will be a diehard Bruins hockey fan!

How do you describe a lifetime that has revolved around the Black and Gold? I'll start by thanking my late Uncle Sid for introducing me to the "Lunch Pail AC" teams of the late 70's. Despite growing up in a household that didn't pay much attention to sports, this undersized scrapper was a fixture at the rink. Even when I didn't live near Boston, my love of the Bruins persisted. I was a fixture at the old Capital Centre during my college years, and the tales of me leading a band of fellow Hockey Krishnas through some of Baltimore's less savory neighborhoods to find a broadcast of the 1988 Stanley Cup Finals are still told today. In adulthood, my children were named after Bruins players (even my daughter) and the kids only increased my obsession. The picture you see is from my man cave, which is highlighted by "The Puck Wall," a collection of 645 different autographed Bruins pucks, ranging from Hall of Famers to guys who only played a single game wearing the spoked B. The man cave was featured in a documentary series, and when a local television station was looking for the area's biggest Bruins fans for a feature, the station said they were overwhelmed with recommendations to visit my man cave. In addition to my support of the Bruins, I strive to be an ally for women and girls looking to play hockey through my work with the former Boston Pride professional hockey team and several local college teams. For me, hockey truly is for everyone.

Attending Boston Bruins games at TD Garden has become a continuous source of my social interaction and well being. But even as a longtime loyal Bruins fan, I enjoy following the entire NHL in addition to my college alma mater Boston College hockey team. Little did I know my bucket list to visit each of the 32 NHL arenas, and joining female NHL fan and hockey card collecting groups would lead me to developing bonds and friendships with opposing team fans who share the same passion and interest for hockey. The wealth of knowledge gained is surreal from connecting with others throughout the league who support their favorite team. I may bleed Black and Gold, but I have a profound respect and recognition for the strong and enormous female fanbase that supports the players and NHL organization. The connections and contributions with fellow Bruins fans have flourished for me as a spoked B diehard. Involving my family and friends in the experience of attending Bruins games and events has created special cherished memories for all of us. It's a bond that was created for me as a child by my own parents who introduced me to Bostons professional sports teams. Outside of family and work life l continue to feed my passion for the Bruins by volunteering to help Moderate several female NHL groups, along with coordinating events such as Watch Parties, Free Group Giveaways/Contests (featuring Bruins merchandise donated my members, Admin/Mods), and regularly gathering during intermission at TD for group photos of members in attendance at games. The list of group activities to connect with others is endless. Being a Boston Bruins fan has evolved into so much more than just visiting other arenas. It has flourished into friendships and respect for ladies who are members from opposing NHL teams. Without the vision of appreciating all 32 organizations and their fans, none of these connections I've made, nor knowledge I've gained would exist. GO BRUINS!
