The Jr. NBA Coach of the Year program celebrates youth basketball coaches who uphold the core values of the game – teamwork, respect, determination, and community – and inspires them to continue teaching the fundamentals of the game. The award is designed to recognize coaches who have made a lasting impact on boys and girls aged 14 and under in their local and surrounding communities.
Nominated Coaches must possess the following:
Coach should serve as a mentor for players both on and off the court, extending his/her role beyond wins/losses to teaching life lessons and developing healthy, confident young adults
Coach should promote healthy relationships by showing respect for players, coaches, parents, fans, and referees .
Coach goes above and beyond call of action to help his/her youth organization.
Coach has contributed to his/her community at large, outside the realm of basketball
If Selected, the winning coach will receive:
