I started with the hat and worked my way down to the pants and made the pants have a tiered look like the Día de Muertos dresses. “

The thing that stuck out to me most was the marigolds everywhere and the altars everywhere.... The design of the back of the jacket has at the top has the Vegas skyline representing where we are now and then the altar is to represent where they (The Raiders) came from, and under that I just think the stadium is the perfect base of the altar. “

I’ve always been a fan of uniform looks; they are just clean and put together. When we had the challenge to work and celebrate for Latino Heritage Month with the Raiders that was where my ideas immediately ran to... I went for the versatile look of the track jacket as well as the track pants, but I didn't want it to end there because I wanted it to be worn by both men and women."

I incorporated water from the pitchers on the ofrenda to symbolize quenching the spirits' thirst after their journey, while the sugar skulls as the pant buttons represent death as a natural and lighthearted part of life. Marigolds decorate the top of the bodice because their vibrant colors and strong scent help guide spirits back to the living. The sheer sleeves represent the smoke from incense burned on the ofrenda, and the Mayan-inspired symbols on the pants honor the cultural heritage connected to the celebration."
